See where your money goes — and how it felt.

Mood Money logs your spending from the payment messages your bank already sends, asks how each spend felt, and over a month shows how your spending and your moods line up.

  • Bank messages read on your phone
  • You choose every mood
  • No ads
Illustration with sample data: a 30-day summary of ₹20,400 tagged spending split by mood — Stressed ₹6,800, Calm ₹5,200, Social ₹3,100, Bored ₹2,900, Celebrating ₹2,400 — and a new ₹487 food-delivery payment, asked how it felt from a notification and tagged Stressed, which adds it to the Stressed total.

How it works

Three steps. The first one mostly does itself.

Spending comes in, you say how it felt, and patterns build up over the month.

  1. 01 · Capture

    Spending logs itself

When a supported bank texts you, or a supported UPI app notifies you, the payment is read on your phone and logged. For anything else, add it by hand or import a statement.

  2. 02 · Add a mood

One tap says how it felt

Tag a spend with one of five moods — from the app, or straight from the notification. Only you choose; the app never guesses. Money coming in is never tagged.

  3. 03 · Notice patterns

    Patterns show up

Spending is totalled by mood and compared with the month before. After 30 days, a short look-back shows which moods your money followed most.

Automatic capture isn’t universal. It works with SMS from the 13 banks listed under Privacy and notifications from supported UPI apps, and only on Android. Payments from anywhere else can be added by hand or imported from a statement.

Five moods

Five moods. None of them wrong.

They’re labels for how a moment felt, not judgements. A stressed spend isn’t a mistake and a calm one isn’t a reward — they’re just easier to see once they have names.

  • Calm

Unhurried. You’d have bought it on any day.

  • Stressed

Under pressure, short on time, or just worn out.

  • Celebrating

    Marking a moment — a win, a festival, a treat.

  • Bored

    Passing time. Scrolling became shopping.

    Insights

    Observations, not verdicts.

Insights describe what you tagged — how much, when, and next to which mood. They can show that stressed spending clustered on weekday evenings. They can’t tell you why, and they won’t pretend to.

    • Insights cover a stated window: this month or the last 30 days.
    • Only spends you tagged count towards a mood.
    • Rent, bills and EMIs you mark as fixed are kept out.

    Features

    Built around one question.

Everything in Mood Money exists to get a spend logged and answer how it felt — with as little typing as possible.

    • Automatic capture

Payments are picked up from bank SMS and UPI-app notifications as they arrive, and the same payment seen twice is kept once. You can also bring in the transaction messages already on your phone.

      Android · supported sources only

    • Manual entry

Cash, a missed message, or money in — add it in a few taps, with an optional category and mood.

      Spent or received

    • Statement import

Import a bank statement to fill gaps. Payments you already have are recognised rather than added twice. Password-protected files are opened on your phone.

      CSV · TXT · XLSX · XLS · ZIP · pasted text

    • Five mood tags

Calm, Stressed, Celebrating, Bored and Social. Tag in the app or from the notification; skip any you like — an untagged spend still counts in your totals.

      Set only by you

    • Categories that learn your payees

Payments to known merchants — Swiggy, Zomato, Blinkit and a few hundred more — are sorted for you. Money sent to people can’t be sorted that way, so the app asks about your biggest payees one at a time. Change one payment and every payment to that payee follows. A category the app only guessed is marked as a guess.

8 categories · your choice always wins

    • 30-day mood insights

See spending by mood next to the period before, where it went, and a 30-day look-back of which moods your money followed most.

      Your data only

    • Home-screen widget

What is left this pay cycle, what that comes to a day, and the budgets closest to their limit — on your home screen, without opening the app. Make it bigger for more budgets, and turn the amounts off if other people see your screen.

Android · amounts can be hidden

Also in the app: income and fixed costs, budgets that follow your pay cycle, optional nudges, and export to CSV or Excel.
